KPMG Selects Voices as Innovative Company on Annual PICK 20 List

London, ON | August 13, 2009

Voices was identified for its innovative spirit and excellence on Backbone Magazine and KPGM’s Annual PICK 20 List.

Created by Backbone and KPMG, the PICK 20 is the only national ranking of its kind. Voices, a Canadian-based online marketplace that connects voice actors with those in need of voice over recordings, was recognized for its leadership in innovation.

Embodying Web 2.0 traits and characteristics such as user generated content, facilitation of community, information sharing and collaboration, the Voices web service shines as a prime example of what it means to be relevant, useful, and empowering on the World Wide Web.

The judges used five criteria to score nominees in the final rankings, including: ROI, competitive advantage, ongoing value, execution and innovation, acknowledging Voices as a winner in the “Innovation” category, comprising of crowd-sourcing, market prediction, and participatory feedback.

Judge Bradley Shende categorized Voices as “voice agency and casting 2.0. Well executed,” and judge Kate Trgovac said the site is “a good niche social network.”
