London Based Company Finalist for Digital Technology of the Year at 2010 Canadian New Media Awards

London, ON | October 14, 2010

Digital media innovator, Voices, is a finalist in the Canadian New Media Award for “Digital Media Technology of the Year.” This is a new category for The CNMA, recognizing the Canadian technology that will most radically change the media landscape.

“We received more entries than any other year from almost every province in Canada, and we’re thrilled to be recognizing such a diverse range of companies and individuals,” says Jory Groberman, Executive Director of nextMEDIA. “Every year the bar is raised with innovative creativity, entrepreneurship, and pioneering technology.”

Voices has created cutting edge technology that allows producers, casting directors, and businesses of all shapes and sizes to negotiate directly with the voice over talent without an agency intercession. The Voices marketplace enables people to post a job, and then receive responses based upon their specific project requirements. Their advanced system automatically analyzes client needs matching voice talent profiles and invites only the most qualified candidates to respond to a job posting.

Voices has previously been honoured by esteemed groups of Canadian thought leaders, movers and shakers, practitioners and pundits that selected the company as a KPMG and Backbone Magazine’s PICK 20 Web 2.0 winner stating that Voices excelled in problem solving, innovation, collaboration as well as knowledge sharing and management.

David Ciccarelli, Voices co-founder/CEO, says “We are thrilled to be finalists for this prestigious award. This recognition serves as an encouragement to the London community as we continuously strive to be leaders in the digital media space.”

Fellow London based company, Big Blue Bubble, has also made it into the finals in two categories including the Best Mobile Application and Best Web-based Game.

The Canadian New Media Awards Gala will be held on Wednesday December 1, 2010 at the Design Exchange in Toronto.
