Voices to Be Featured in Western’s Outside-the-Box Career Paths Panel

London, ON | January 15, 2015

With a team that is comprised of various backgrounds, from philosophy to accounting, Voices is a prime example of professionals who have blazed their own career paths, regardless of their degree. This is why Voices’s own Chief Brand Officer and Public Relations Manager, Stephanie Ciccarelli and Trisha Beausaert, are joining Western University’s on-campus Career Conference on January 17th, 2015.

These two professionals, who have enjoyed their own incredible career journeys, are both Western University alumnae. Coming from Music and Literature degrees, respectively, Stephanie and Trisha will be joining Dave Reed, of Forked River Brewing Company, and Chris Moss, a private consultant, on the Outside-the-Box Career Paths panel discussion. The panel is meant for everyone from first year to fourth year students and beyond, and addresses the misconceptions around traditional perspectives on degree and career congruity.

“Many people wouldn’t expect that a Bachelor of Musical Arts can found a tech company like Voices, and become its Chief Brand Officer,” says Stephanie, who started the voice-over marketplace platform with her husband, David Ciccarelli, in London ten years ago. “We are here to dispel the stereotypes and show the amazing, ‘outside-the-box’ career you can have if you know how to leverage your education.”

Western’s Career Conference has been designed to address a variety of career-related topics. In addition to the much-anticipated Outside-the-Box Career Paths panel discussion, the conference agenda includes sessions on everything from job-searching, the impact of social media on careers, managing wealth, and how to start a business.

The conference runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm on January 17th at Western’s University Community Centre. To register, or to learn more, visit http://www.success.uwo.ca/careers/conference/

Voices will also be exhibiting at Western’s Job Fair on January 22nd. More information on this event can be found at http://www.success.uwo.ca/recruiters/oncampus_recruitment/career_fairs/job_fair/index.html
