Community Guidelines

Our commitment to you, and what’s expected of you as a Voices community member.

We’ve created the following Community Guidelines to ensure a safe and positive experience for both Users and Employees. Our goal is to help you understand what it means to be a Voices member. If you encounter unacceptable behavior by anyone using the Voices Platform, we encourage you to report it immediately to our Support team by sending us an email. Your use of Voices is subject to these Guidelines and our Terms of Service.

Safety

What we don’t allow

  • Bullying and harassment: No Voices user or Voices employee should be subjected to unwanted behavior such as bullying, harassment, written or verbal abuse.
  • Slurs, hate speech, or derogatory language: No Voices user or Voices employee should be subjected to prejudicial language based on age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, religion, or any other attribute.
  • Offensive images, symbols, or objects: No Voices user or Voices employee should be subjected to images that denigrate a group of people. We don’t allow images that contain symbols, logos, or slogans tied to extremist or hate groups. Images containing nudity are not permitted.

Privacy

What we allow

  • Pseudonyms: Talent or Clients are under no obligation to use their legal name as their profile name, and pseudonyms or stage names are allowed.

What we don’t allow

  • Sharing content without permission: Private or confidential details of individuals, job details, briefs, scripts, or contact information of Voices customers or staff must not be publicly posted without consent.
  • Sharing your contact information: Your contact information may not be shared in written or audible form on the Voices platform, such as on your profile, in a job posting, or in a job response. This includes but is not limited to your phone number, email address, website, or social media handles. The one exception is in setting up a live directed session after payment has been made.

Content

What we allow

  • Synthesis of your own voice: As a Voices Talent, you are permitted to submit audio created by speech synthesis of your own voice only, not the voice(s) of others. If using synthesized voices, you must disclose this information in proposals, profiles, and demos.

What we don’t allow

  • Content that breaches Content Guidelines: No one should be subjected to content, whether written or recorded, which encourages self-harm, drug abuse, or illegal activity. No one should be subjected to content that contains extreme violence, hate speech, profanity, or content that is sexually explicit in nature.
  • Intellectual property theft: No one should upload content created or copyrighted by someone else. Users must have created or have permission to upload any content or written material.

Reviews

What we allow

  • Requesting a review edit: Reviews cannot be deleted, but you may request that a Client or Talent edits their review based on their experience.

What we don’t allow

  • Review manipulation: Influencing a Talent or Client’s review through threats or incentives has no place in our community.
  • Retaliative reviews: All reviews must accurately describe the Client or Talent experience, and no one should receive a negative review in retaliation.
  • Baseless reviews: All reviews must accurately reflect the experience of a particular job and must be founded on facts. Negative ratings that are baseless and don’t reflect the project’s circumstances may be reviewed internally upon request.

What’s expected of Talent (providers)?

What we allow

  • Attending live sessions after payment: After payment has been made, some jobs may require communication with the Client via live-directed session. All other contact with Clients must be made through the Voices platform.
  • Audio protection: We recommend that all Talent protect their audio submissions in job responses by submitting only portions of the required audition and never submit full material to potential Clients until payment has been made.

What we don’t allow

  • Multiple Talent Per Profile: Talent profiles are meant for individuals. Don’t allow any other individuals, friends and family included, to use your profile, whether you are Premium, Platinum, or Guest. Each Talent must create their own profile.
  • Unreliable communication: Talent should be responsive and willing to answer questions within a reasonable amount of time from Clients or Voices and follow any necessary steps to move projects forward.
  • Circumventing the Voices platform: All communication and file-sharing related to Voices jobs must be carried out on the Voices platform. Talent must not contact Clients outside the Voices platform.
  • Creating your own agreements: Voices Talent may not submit additional agreements to the Client pertaining to a particular project; any working stipulations in their proposal or revision policy must be kept on the Voices platform.
  • Misquoting Voices Fees: Talent must always accurately reflect Voices fees and rate guide items in dealings with Clients.

What’s expected of Clients (buyers)?

What we allow

  • Setting up live directed sessions: Live sessions are an important part of the hiring process and are allowed on other platforms like SourceConnect. Live sessions must be arranged and scheduled through the Voices platform after payment.

What we don’t allow

  • Breaching the service agreement: All Clients must abide by the terms set by the job agreement as long as the standards are not inconsistent with Voices policies. This includes but is not limited to usage, revisions, and project deadlines.
  • Contacting Talent outside of Voices: All communication for Voices jobs must happen through the Voices platform for your and the Talent’s safety. All jobs posted on the Voices platform must be completed on-platform.
  • Unreasonable requests before payment: No Talent should receive unreasonable requests from Clients before a payment is made on a project.
